Punjab Apni Gaddi Apna Rojgar Yojna Scheme Objective
The primary objective of the “Punjab Apni Gaddi Apna Rojgar Yojna ” scheme launched by the Punjab government is to provide subsidies on vehicle purchases to unemployed youth in the state, enabling them to start their own employment. This initiative targets young individuals who are educated but cannot start their own business due to financial constraints and poverty. Under this scheme, subsidies are offered to assist these youths in purchasing their own vehicles, thereby facilitating them to start their own transport-based businesses. This program is expected to reduce the unemployment rate in the state.
Punjab Apni Gaddi Apna Rojgar Yojna Benefits
The subsidy provided under this scheme for three-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles is as follows:
- For four-wheeled vehicles: A subsidy of 15% of the on-road cost or INR 75,000 (whichever is lower) will be provided.
- For three-wheeled vehicles: A subsidy of 15% of the on-road cost or INR 50,000 (whichever is lower) will be provided.
- Candidates only need to pay 15% of the total cost of the vehicle.
- The remaining amount will be covered by the Punjab State Cooperative Bank.
- Under this scheme, 30% of the loans for vehicles are reserved for youths belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.

The selection of beneficiaries under this scheme will be based on merit, with the total score comprising 100 points. Candidates will be selected based on the points they score. The educational qualifications and driving experience will determine the applicant’s score as follows:

- 8th pass: 20 points
- 10th pass: 25 points
- 12th pass: 30 points
- Graduate level: 35 points

- 0 to 3 years: 20 points
- 3 to 6 years: 25 points
- 6 to 9 years: 30 points

- Only permanent residents of Punjab can apply for this scheme.
- Individuals aged between 21 to 45 years are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have a valid driving license for three-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles.
